Remember that really small muscle spasm I was just sure would go away overnight? Well we are on day 9 and it is still around, but now it is decreasing. The daily hindrance: I only have about six hours of usable energy a day and four of that can be spent outside the house. It has made this week interesting. It has also led me to some different activities–so that’s a perk!
One night I stayed up (involuntarily) until 6:30 AM whereupon I caught two-ish hours of sleep. I read an entire novel so I put the time to good use. I’ve also spent extra time with my mother–always good. And performed school projects.
Taking my own advice to write everyday can be easy if I say that blogging or school can be counted. But this week I challenged myself to write a page everyday of a fiction story. I really don’t care if the book comes out terribly or if I write a different story every day. I just need to get back in the habit of fiction-telling. It has been good company and I’m averaging about two pages a day. I always have trouble getting started with a story because the beginning is so tough. I usually end up free-writing my first draft and doing major rewrites on my second time through. This is always hard for me to accept, because I want it to be beautiful on my first attempt. I have just got to push through this free-write if I am ever going to write another book!
So that has been my week. Writing, reading, family-time, school, some music. Not bad!
